Services
Enquiries:
Contact can be made with the school in various ways:
- General Enquiries can be made by a phone call – 9484-1544 – or by visiting the School Office.
- Appointments can be arranged with the Principal for individual interviews. Newcomers to the school are always welcome to come and discuss programs and to have a tour of the school.
- Classroom Queries can take place with the class teachers. Minor questions can be addressed before or after school. Major concerns require an appointment time which is agreeable to all participants.
- School Council Queries can be addressed by any school councillors. If a parent wishes to have a matter raised at a School Council Meeting, it needs to be placed on the Agenda by the Friday prior to a School Council Meeting.
We are fortunate to have regular weekly visits to our school by an
Educational Psychologist and a Speech Pathologist. Referrals can be requested by teachers and / or parents.
A School Nurse visits our school annually. All Prep students and referrals from other classes are checked.
A Dental Health Service is available to students. The Centre which our students visit is the PANCH Medical Centre in Bell Street Preston. Dental staff do occasionally visit the school to assess students whose parents request an appointment.
The Fundraising Committee is made up of parents and staff representatives. The Committee meets regularly to organize fundraising activities. The aim is to hold one major fundraising event each term. As well, several small scale activities are organized throughout the year.
Any member of our school community is welcome to join this committee.
This allowance is available to families who hold a current Commonwealth Health Care Card in respect to students under 16 years of age who are in regular attendance at a school. The school must sight the validity of the card. Full details of eligibility are always published in the school newsletter and enquiries may be made at the School Office.
During the year students are required to bring money along to school for a variety of reasons, including excursions, incursions, special events, book club and fundraising. It is essential that a special ‘Payment Envelope' is used. It is necessary to write all details clearly, including the student's name, grade, room number and the purpose of the collection.
We would appreciate families enclosing the correct amount of money. Receipts are given for all money brought to school in this manner.
The School Council is an extremely important decision making body
within our school. Two major sub committees of School Council are the Finance Committee and Buildings and Grounds Committee. People are encouraged to take an active interest in these groups, either as members or as concerned community members who may voice their ideas to representatives.
School Council meets on the third Monday of each month. Finance Committee and Buildings & Grounds Committee meetings are held in the week prior to the School Council meeting.
Junior School Council:
An active Junior School Council operates at our school, with representatives being elected from Years 1-6. Students conduct a weekly assembly, write items for our newsletter and meet each week to consider student issues. They report to the School Council every month. |
