Communications

Newsletters:

Each week a newsletter is published which features information about school activities, fundraising, sporting events, community happenings, coming school events and student awards. It is a valuable means of communication and we expect it to be read by all families.

Excursion, Incursion, Special Event Notices:

All these events are regarded as an important part of our educational program. Permission notes must be clearly signed and the school payment envelopes must be used when a cost is involved.

Parent – Teacher Meetings:

Parents are very welcome to come and discuss our programs and their children's needs at any time during the year. However three times are set aside for formal interviews.

  • At the start of the year it is a ‘getting to know you' time, when teachers can outline their expectations and parents can make known any circumstances which need to be considered.
  • In the middle of the year, following the distribution of written School Reports, parents and students are given the opportunity to come along individually to discuss progress made during the year.
  • At the end of the year, after distribution of the second written School Reports, a further individual interview takes place between parents, students and teachers to discuss outcomes for the year.

Parent Involvement:

Our school welcomes parent involvement in a number of ways. Involvement on committees, assisting in classroom programs and helping on excursions are some of the major forms of assistance. Sharing specific areas of expertise is also appreciated.

Visitors to the School:

All visitors to the school are expected to report at the Office. Visitors' badges are available so that staff and students may know that entry has been authorized.
