Primary School is situated in Hotham Street Preston and
has an enrolment of 120 students.
Students come from diverse socio-economic and cultural
backgrounds. Based on the Family Occupation Index the
school is in the low-mid range. There are a high proportion
of ESL students. This diversity is celebrated and a strong
emphasis is placed upon acceptance of difference and the
appreciation of all cultures. Our aim is to provide all
students with a nurturing, stimulating environment in
which they feel confident to explore their world and to
develop their competencies. Values which form the foundations
for action include Respect, Integrity, Co-operation, Responsibility
and Perseverance. The school promotes a strong sense of
community awareness, independence and responsibiity in
its students.
Despite a devastating fire in July 2009 the school continues
to provide a safe, secure environment and the community
looks forward to the replacement of vital facilities.
Special emphasis is placed on improving student performance
in English and Mathematics at all Levels. The core curriculum
is enhanced by a range of special programs including Art,Physical
Education, LOTE (Mandarin,Macedonain, Greek) Bike Ed and
Instrumental Music classes.
